I’m not going to write a long entry about it, but I am the proud owner of a brand new Wii. Suffice to say, it’s very fun, especially the Tennis game in Wii Sports.

I ended up camping out at Best Buy starting at 6PM on saturday. If I wanted I probably could have shown up around 4 AM or so and still gotten a unit, but I figured if I was going to camp, I’d do it right. I hung out with a group of guys from WPI (guys I hadn’t met before), and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it was also freezing cold. From about 2AM to 5AM everybody was huddled under blankets trying to stay warm. Some people actually managed to sleep, but I didn’t. Still, I think it was worth it.

  1. Awesome, congratulations mate. It’s another couple of weeks until the Wii is released in the UK, but I have a guaranteed pre-order in with Amazon, so fingers crossed.

  2. Hi Kevin, I saw your comment on Matt G’s site — if it’s OK with you, I’ve added your code as well (fwiw ours is: 8587-0792-9123-4817). :)

We only got our Wii on Thurs, so we’re just a few days in — haven’t even gotten to the new Zelda yet, we’ve taken a detour via NES Zelda instead! …and heaps of tennis and bowling.

Have you had yours for long? Any tips on good games, or lemons to avoid (haven’t heard great things about Red Steel) ..?

I’ve had mine since launch. Zelda is awesome, Wii Sports is awesome. Rayman is fun, but I haven’t played it much yet. Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz is kinda lame, though I know some people that really like it. And Red Steel is also fairly mediocre.
